Be Like Christ

What it means to truly be a Christian

Christian = doesn't sin intentionally

Sure, we all stumble, and that's what grace is about (1 John 2:1), but that's not an excuse to do wrong or please the selfish earthly desires (1 Peter 4:1-2, Galatians 5:13, Romans 6:1-7). If someone is using grace as an excuse to do wrong, that person never truly knew Christ (1 John 3:6, Mark 8:34-38). God knows if a sin or wrongdoing was REALLY committed unwillingly or unknowingly (Hebrews 4:13, Proverbs 20:27, Proverbs 24:12, Proverbs 15:3, Ecclesiastes 12:14, Psalms 7:9).

Think about it like this:

God knows what is on our hearts (Psalms 139:2). He knows what our actual intentions truly are, and we can't fool Him about if something was an accident and if we are truly sorry (Luke 3:8, Revelation 2:1-29). It doesn't matter if someone can trick and deceive every person on earth, God is the One who knows (Proverbs 22:12, Psalms 25:3)!

The gift of grace and mercy from God is what saves us, and this comes from faith in Jesus, yes (John 3:3-16, Ephesians 3:12, 2 Peter 2:20). However we need this grace and mercy continually no matter what we have done, not only because of our personal past transgressions, but also for the Adam and Eve original sin (Romans 5:12-21). That's the point of faith in Jesus- so we can live the lives God wants us to and escape that life of sin, destruction, and ultimate death (Psalm 68:20, Romans 8:6, Philippians 3:17-19). Once we have new life through the Spirit we will use it to spread love and bring glory to the Lord, not to continue in our old sinful ways (Matthew 5:16, 1 Peter 2:1-12)!

God forgives us? Yes, God forgives sinners of their past sin, and Christians of their honest mistakes, but not evil liars who give only part of themselves to God and the rest of their lives to sin or to those who never want to repent (Matthew 7:21-27, Psalms 7:12, 1 John 2:6-29). God doesn't promise forgiveness to people who only care about looking righteous to other people and seeking praise from people here on earth (Luke 16:15, Matthew 6:16-18, Galatians 1:10). Repentance isn't just asking for forgiveness, it is showing God the desire for forgiveness by changing our hearts and lives (James 2:14-26, Matthew 3:8, Acts 22:16). We must love each other and treat others the way we wish to be treated. Don't let anyone fool about that, this is the Teaching you have had since the beginning (Mark 16:16, Matthew 7:12, 1 John 2:7).

That's what the Bible says about grace and salvation through faith in Christ and keeping God's commands. This is possible through prayer, living by the Word of God, and faith in the Lord's Son Jesus Christ.

Matthew 3:8 NKJV↓
“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,”
Mark 16:16 NKJV↓
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”
Acts 22:16 NKJV↓
And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
Romans 5:12-21 NKJV↓
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that  which  came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which  came from one offense  resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which  came from many offenses resulted in justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment  came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the  free  gift  came  to all men, resulting in justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous. Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Galatians 5:13-26 NKJV↓
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another! I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who  are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
1 John 2:1-7 ERV↓
My dear children, I write this letter to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone sins, we have Jesus Christ to help us. He always did what was right, so He is able to defend us before God the Father. Jesus is the way our sins are taken away. And He is the way all people can have their sins taken away too.   If we obey what God has told us to do, then we are sure that we know Him. If we say we know God but do not obey His commands, we are lying. The truth is not in us. But when we obey God’s teaching, His love is truly working in us. This is how we know that we are living in Him. If we say we live in God, we must live the way Jesus lived.   My dear friends, I am not writing a new command to you. It is the same command you have had since the beginning. This command is the Teaching you have already heard.
1 John 3:1-10 ERV↓
The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much He loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are His children. But the people in the world don’t understand that we are God’s children, because they have not known Him. Dear friends, now we are children of God. We have not yet been shown what we will be in the future. But we know that when Christ comes again, we will be like Him. We will see Him just as He is. He is pure, and everyone who has this hope in Him keeps themselves pure like Christ.   Anyone who sins breaks God’s law. Yes, sinning is the same as living against God’s law. You know that Christ came to take away people’s sins. There is no sin in Christ. So whoever lives in Christ does not continue to sin. If they continue to sin, they have never really understood Christ and have never known Him. Dear children, don’t let anyone lead you into the wrong way. Christ always did what was right. So to be good like Christ, you must do what is right. The devil has been sinning since the beginning. Anyone who continues to sin belongs to the devil. The Son of God came for this: to destroy the devil’s work. Those who are God’s children do not continue to sin, because the new life God gave them stays in them. They cannot keep sinning, because they have become children of God. So we can see who God’s children are and who the devil’s children are. These are the ones who are not God’s children: those who don’t do what is right and those who do not love their brothers and sisters in God’s family.
Matthew 28:20 NLT↓
"Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 7:21-27 NKJV↓
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

1 Peter 1:13-23 ERV↓
So prepare your minds for service. With complete self-control put all your hope in the grace that will be yours when Jesus Christ comes. In the past you did not have the understanding you have now, so you did the evil things you wanted to do. But now you are children of God, so you should obey Him and not live the way you did before. Be holy in everything you do, just as God is holy. He is the One who chose you. In the Scriptures God says, “Be holy, because I am holy.”  You pray to God and call Him Father, but He will judge everyone the same way—by what they do. So while you are visiting here on earth, you should live with respect for God. You know that in the past the way you were living was useless. It was a way of life you learned from those who lived before you. But you were saved from that way of living. You were bought, but not with things that ruin like gold or silver. You were bought with the precious blood of Christ’s death. He was a pure and perfect sacrificial Lamb. Christ was chosen before the world was made, but He was shown to the world in these last times for you. You believe in God through Christ. God is the one who raised Him from death and gave honor to Him. So your faith and your hope are in God. You have made yourselves pure by obeying the Truth. Now you can have true love for your brothers and sisters. So love each other deeply—with all your heart. You have been born again. This new life did not come from something that dies. It came from Something that cannot die. You were born again through God’s life-giving Message that lasts forever.

Jesus Christ is the Messiah. In His name I pray that if you have taken the time to read this, you will continue to seek the Lord even more by reading the Bible. Desire the kingdom of God above all things, and our Lord Jesus will show you the Way, the Truth, and the Life. May His peace and mercy be with you! God bless!

How to Handle Hatred!

How to Handle Hatred!

People will hate us and be mean to us because we are followers of Christ. We will be persecuted, insulted, mistreated, abused, and some of us even killed for no reason other than we are believers in the Son of God (Matthew 10:19-22). Through all this we need to remain faithful and obedient to the Lord Jesus, for the one who continues following the Way will be saved (Matthew 24:9-13). There are certain things that the Word of God inclines us to do throughout these struggles. We are treated like the world's trash, but that is no reason to stop loving (1 Corinthians 4:12-13). Master Jesus points out that we should treat everyone kindly, because if we are nice only to our friends, even people who don't know God do that (Matthew 5:38-48).

So, what are some simple things the Word of the Lord says we can remember to do in times we are dealing with hatred and enemies of the cross?

1. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad.
(Matthew 5:11-12)
2. Accept it,
3. ask God to bless them,
4. and try to say something that will help them.
(1 Corinthians 4:12-13)
5. If they hit one side of our face, turn and let them hit the other cheek, too.
6. If they take our shirts, let them have our coats, too.
7. Go two miles when forced to go one.
8. Don't refuse anyone.
(Matthew 5:38-48)
9. Stay strong in our faith.
(Matthew 24:9-13)
10. Take it as an opportunity to tell them the Good News about Jesus Christ.
11. Don't worry now about what we will say; when the time comes, the Holy Spirit of God will give us the right words to say.
(Luke 21:12-19)
12. Pray for them.
(Luke 6:28)

Matthew 5:11-12 NKJV↓
Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.  Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

1 Corinthians 4:12-13 ERV↓
We work hard with our own hands to feed ourselves. When people insult us, we ask God to bless them. When people treat us badly, we accept it. When people say bad things about us, we try to say something that will help them. But people still treat us like the world’s garbage—everyone’s trash.
Matthew 5:38-48 ERV↓
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’  But I tell you, don’t fight back against someone who wants to do harm to you. If they hit you on the right cheek, let them hit the other cheek too. If anyone wants to sue you in court and take your shirt, let them have your coat too. If a soldier forces you to walk with him one mile, go with him two. Give to anyone who asks you for something. Don’t refuse to give to anyone who wants to borrow from you. “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies. Pray for those who treat you badly. If you do this, you will be children who are truly like your Father in heaven. He lets the sun rise for all people, whether they are good or bad. He sends rain to those who do right and to those who do wrong. If you love only those who love you, why should you get a reward for that? Even the tax collectors do that. And if you are nice only to your friends, you are no better than anyone else. Even the people who don’t know God are nice to their friends. What I am saying is that you must be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect."

Luke 6:28 ERV↓
"Ask God to bless the people who ask for bad things to happen to you. Pray for the people who are mean to you."

Matthew 24:9-13 ERV↓
“Then you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and killed. People all over the world will hate you because you believe in me. During that time many believers will lose their faith. They will turn against each other and hate each other. Many false prophets will come and cause many people to believe things that are wrong. There will be so much more evil in the world that the love of most believers will grow cold. But the one who remains faithful to the end will be saved."

Luke 21:12-19 ERV↓
“But before all these things happen, people will arrest you and do bad things to you. They will judge you in their synagogues and put you in jail. You will be forced to stand before kings and governors. They will do all these things to you because you follow Me. But this will give you an opportunity to tell about Me. Decide now not to worry about what you will say. I will give you the wisdom to say things that none of your enemies can answer. Even your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends will turn against you. They will have some of you killed. Everyone will hate you because you follow Me. But none of these things can really harm you. You will save yourselves by continuing strong in your faith through all these things."

Matthew 10:19-22 NKJV↓
"But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak;  for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. “Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.  And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved."

I thank God that He has given us the Gift of the Holy Spirit, who allows us to know Him better and be more like His Son Jesus. God bless you all. I love you with the strength and love of Christ, and I'm here for you.

Being of God (Spiritual) vs being earthly (carnal): Part 3- Foolishness means doing wrong, not a lack of earthly intelligence!

Being of God (Spiritual) vs being earthly (carnal): Part 3
Foolishness means doing wrong, not a lack of earthly intelligence!

Please take a look at the Bible verses below. Through prayer and a careful reading of God’s Word, the Holy Spirit reveals to us that whenever a person or their action is referred to in the Scriptures as “foolish,” “folly,” or “foolishness,” it is because they have done wrong. When someone sins against another person or against God, it damages their own self more than it harms the person they have aimed their hatred at. The things that are foolish are the same as the things that are evil, such as pride, greed, lust, hatred, envy, selfishness, etc. Many times in the Scriptures there are two differing sides: one which is described as “wise,” “righteous,” “good,” “in right standing with the Lord,” and various other synonyms of these words; the other which is described as "foolish," "wicked," "evil," "wrongdoing," "sinful," and so on. If true wisdom is about peace, love, and joy, the opposite (true foolishness) is not about how high an IQ is or how intelligent a person is, but rather, it is about greed, pride, and selfishness.

Proverbs 1:7 NKJV↓
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Colossians 2:20-23 ERV↓
You died with Christ and were made free from the powers that influence this world. So why do you act as if you still belong to the world? I mean, why do you follow rules like these: “Don’t eat this,” “Don’t taste that,” “Don’t touch that”? These rules are talking about earthly things that are gone after they are used. They are only human commands and teachings. These rules may seem to be wise as part of a made-up religion in which people pretend to be humble and punish their bodies. But they don’t help people stop doing the evil that the sinful self wants to do.

Ecclesiastes 2:26 NKJV↓
For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This also is vanity and grasping for the wind.

Ecclesiastes 10:1-3 ERV↓
A few dead flies will make even the best perfume stink. In the same way, a little foolishness can ruin much wisdom and honor. The thoughts of the wise lead them the right way, but the thoughts of the foolish lead them the wrong way. Fools show how foolish they are, just walking down the road. Their minds are empty, and everyone knows it.

Ecclesiastes 9:17-18 NKJV
Words of the wise, spoken quietly, should  be heard rather than the shout of a ruler of fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war; But one sinner destroys much good.

Proverbs 4:11-15 NKJV↓
I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; Keep her, for she is your life. Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on.

Proverbs 8:11 ERV↓
Wisdom is better than pearls, and nothing you desire compares with her.

Proverbs 9:10 NKJV↓
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Proverbs 19:8 NKJV↓
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good.

Proverbs 10:21 ERV↓
Good people say things that help others, but the wicked die from a lack of understanding.
Proverbs 10:21 NKJV↓
The lips of the righteous feed many, But fools die for lack of wisdom.

Proverbs 10:23 NKJV↓
To do evil is like sport to a fool, But a man of understanding has wisdom.

Isaiah 32:5-6 ERV↓
Fools would not be called great men. People would not respect men who make secret plans. Fools say foolish things, and in their minds they plan evil things to do. They want to do what is wrong. They say bad things about the Lord. They don’t let hungry people eat their food. They don’t let thirsty people drink the water.

Proverbs 11:2-3 NKJV
When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.

Proverbs 11:12 NKJV↓
He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor, But a man of understanding holds his peace.

Proverbs 12:8 NKJV↓
A man will be commended according to his wisdom, But he who is of a perverse heart will be despised.

Proverbs 14:8 NKJV↓
The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way, But the folly of fools is deceit.
Proverbs 14:8 ERV↓
Wisdom lets smart people know what they are doing, but stupid people only think they know.

Proverbs 10:13 NKJV↓
Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has understanding, But a rod is for the back of him who is devoid of understanding.

Proverbs 16:16 NKJV↓
How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.

Proverbs 24:8-9 NKJV
He who plots to do evil will be called a schemer. The devising of foolishness is sin, And the scoffer is an abomination to men.

Proverbs 24:13-14 ERV↓
My son, eat honey; it is good. Honey straight from the honeycomb is the sweetest. In the same way, know that wisdom is good for you. Wisdom will give you something to hope for that will not disappoint you.

Proverbs 30:32 ERV
If you have been foolish enough to become proud and make plans against other people, stop and think about what you are doing.

The Truth is, Jesus is coming back. He's coming soon, but troubles and false people will come prior to His return. Some of these troubles and false people are already here. These are the last days we have been warned about. May we arm ourselves with the love and strength of the Word, who came to earth in the form of a Man, Jesus Christ. May His peace and endurance be with you all!

Being of God (Spiritual) vs being earthly (carnal): Part 2- True Wisdom as opposed to "wisdom" of the earth

Being of God (Spiritual) vs being earthly (carnal): Part 2

True Wisdom as opposed to "wisdom" of the earth

True Wisdom is the Wisdom that comes from the Lord. The “wisdom” that comes from the world is actually not wisdom at all! It is earthly (carnal) intelligence, and because it is evil and selfish in nature, God has revealed to His people that it is actually foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:20, Isaiah 29:14). Wisdom that comes from the world is about anger, jealousy, greed, lust, and pride. The Wisdom that comes from the Lord is pure, peaceable, gentle, and easy to please. This Wisdom is always ready to help people who have trouble and to do good for others. This Wisdom is always fair and honest (James 3:13-17). The true Wisdom begins with respect for the Lord (Psalms 111:10, Proverbs 9:10). Once we begin to follow and trust God, we can pray to Him, asking for Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding (James 1:5-7). The Wisdom He gives us comes from the power of the Holy Spirit. Without God's Spirit, the things that are of God cannot be understood (Isaiah 11:2, Daniel 5:14, 1 Corinthians 2:10-16). We receive the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, and then we can understand the Truths of God's Word. Having actual Wisdom from God enables us to be the type of people He wants us to be, and continue to grow in our faith and good deeds (Colossians 1:9-10). The more we seek understanding, the better we will know how to love each other and worship our Father, the Father of Lord Jesus. Jesus tells us in order to be His followers we must forget everything we thought we knew and revert our thinking back to that of a child (Mark 10:15). In this way we can forget the selfish or earthly things we used to let control us and let the Holy Spirit into our minds and into our hearts (2 Peter 1:1-21). Wisdom is proven to be true and good by the lives of the people who live by it (Luke 7:35).

James 1:5-7 NKJV↓
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

Isaiah 29:14 ERV↓
So I will continue to amaze them by doing powerful and amazing things. Their wise men will lose their wisdom. Even the most intelligent among them will not be able to understand.

Philippians 3:18-19 ERV↓
There are many who live like enemies of the cross of Christ. I have often told you about them. And it makes me cry to tell you about them now. The way they live is leading them to destruction. They have replaced God with their own desires. They do shameful things, and they are proud of what they do. They think only about earthly things.

Psalms 111:10 NKJV↓
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

Luke 7:35 ERV
But wisdom is shown to be right by those who accept it.

James 3:13-17 ERV↓
Are there any among you who are really wise and understanding? Then you should show your wisdom by living right. You should do what is good with humility. A wise person does not boast. If you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, you have no reason to boast. Your boasting is a lie that hides the truth. That kind of “wisdom” does not come from God. That “wisdom” comes from the world. It is not spiritual. It is from the devil. Where there is jealousy and selfishness, there will be confusion and every kind of evil. But the wisdom that comes from God is like this: First, it is pure. It is also peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help people who have trouble and to do good for others. This wisdom is always fair and honest.

Colossians 1:9-10 NKJV↓
For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Romans 8:5 ERV↓
People who live following their sinful selves think only about what they want. But those who live following the Spirit are thinking about what the Spirit wants them to do.

Romans 8:6 NKJV↓
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

1 Corinthians 1:20 ERV↓
So what does this say about the philosopher, the law expert, or anyone in this world who is skilled in making clever arguments? God has made the wisdom of the world look foolish.

1 Corinthians 1:21 AMP↓
For when the world with all its earthly wisdom failed to perceive and recognize and know God by means of its own philosophy, God in His wisdom was pleased through the foolishness of preaching [salvation, procured by Christ and to be had through Him], to save those who believed (who clung to and trusted in and relied on Him).

1 Corinthians 2:2-5 ERV↓
I decided that while I was with you I would forget about everything except Jesus Christ and His death on the cross. When I came to you, I was weak and shook with fear. My teaching and my speaking were not with wise words that persuade people. But the proof of my teaching was the power that the Spirit gives. I did this so that your faith would be in God’s power, not in human wisdom.

1 Corinthians 2:6-16 ERV↓
We teach wisdom to people who are mature, but the wisdom we teach is not from this world. It is not the wisdom of the rulers of this world, who are losing their power. But we speak God’s secret wisdom that has been hidden from everyone until now. God planned this wisdom for our glory. He planned it before the world began. None of the rulers of this world understood this wisdom. If they had understood it, they would not have killed our great and glorious Lord on a cross. But as the Scriptures say, “No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” [Isaiah 64:4] But God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit knows all things. The Spirit even knows the deep secrets of God. It is like this: No one knows the thoughts that another person has. Only the person’s spirit that lives inside knows those thoughts. It is the same with God. No one knows God’s thoughts except God’s Spirit. We received the Spirit that is from God, not the spirit of the world. We received God’s Spirit so that we can know all that God has given us. When we say this, we don’t use words taught to us by human wisdom. We use words taught to us by the Spirit. We use the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. People who do not have God’s Spirit do not accept the things that come from His Spirit. They think these things are foolish. They cannot understand them, because they can only be understood with the Spirit’s help. We who have the Spirit are able to make judgments about all these things. But anyone without the Spirit is not able to make proper judgments about us. As the Scriptures say, “Who can know what is on the Lord’s mind? Who is able to give Him advice?” [Isaiah 40:13]  But we have been given Christ’s way of thinking.

1 Corinthians 3:18-23 ERV↓
Don’t fool yourselves. Whoever thinks they are wise in this world should become a fool. That’s the only way they can be wise. I say this because the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, “He catches those who think they are wise in their own clever traps.”  The Scriptures also say, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise. He knows that their thoughts are worth nothing.”  So there is not a person on earth that any of you should be boasting about. Everything is yours: Paul, Apollos, Peter, the world, life, death, the present, and the future—all these are yours. And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.

2 Corinthians 1:12 ERV↓
This is what we are proud of, and I can say with a clear conscience that it is true: In everything we have done in the world, we have done it with an honest and pure heart from God. And this is even truer in what we have done with you. We did this by God’s grace, not by the kind of wisdom the world has.

Daniel 5:14 NKJV
I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.

Isaiah 11:2 NKJV↓
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

Peace be with you! I pray that as people of God we are all trusting in Him at all times, and never leaning on our own understanding. Through faith in Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can gain Wisdom from God. Since we fear of the Lord we can ask for an understanding and knowledge of His Word, which is not our own understanding. May we live according to His will! All thanks and praise go to our Father in heaven! Glory to God forever and ever. Thanks for reading, my brothers and sisters.

Being of God (Spiritual) vs being earthly (carnal): Part 1 -There is a real, actual difference between the spiritual and the carnal

Being of God (Spiritual) vs being earthly (carnal): Part 1
There is a real, actual difference between the spiritual and the carnal

All throughout the Holy Bible there is a clearly defined difference between the things that are of the earth (carnal), and the things that are of God (spiritual). There is “wisdom” of the earth and Wisdom from God, there are people of the earth and people of God, there are actions or deeds that are of the earth and actions or deeds that are of God. There is a way of the world and the Way that is Christ.

We are told continuously by the Word of the Lord that as believers in Christ we cannot be divided in our ways. If we are of God, our carnal (or earthly) nature and earthly desires have died with our old lives on the cross of Christ (Colossians 3:2-3, Ephesians 2:1-6). Through Christ we are reborn and made new, allowing us to have a new life through Him. This new life of faith is spiritual, not earthly (John 3:3-16). It is only because of our faith that we are able to escape the ruin that comes to people of the world because of the evil things they want (2 Peter 1:3-11). We cannot be loyal to both God and the world (James 4:4). We cannot love things that are of the earth and also love God (1 John 2:15-17). The Lord Jesus says that we cannot serve both God and mammon, mammon being any form of money, earthly possessions, or wealth (Matthew 6:24). As people reborn through the Spirit of God, we should not even think earthly things (Philippians 3:19)! Jesus says to the Father that His followers are not of the world, just as He is not of the world, and He warns His followers that the world will very likely hate us for this reason.

I John 2:15-17 NKJV↓
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Matthew 6:24 NASB↓
"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."

James 1:8 NLT↓
Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.

James 4:2-4 AMP↓
You are jealous and covet [what others have] and your desires go unfulfilled; [so] you become murderers. [To hate is to murder as far as your hearts are concerned.] You burn with envy and anger and are not able to obtain [the gratification, the contentment, and the happiness that you seek], so you fight and war. You do not have, because you do not ask. [Or] you do ask [God for them] and yet fail to receive, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives. Your intention is [when you get what you desire] to spend it in sensual pleasures. You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God.

Colossians 3:1-17 NKJV↓
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who  is  our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must  do.  But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

1 John 3:1 ERV↓
The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much he loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are his children. But the people in the world don’t understand that we are God’s children, because they have not known him.

John 17:14 NKJV↓
I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

I John 3:13 NKJV↓
Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

I John 4:5-6 NKJV↓
They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

John 15:18-19 NKJV↓
If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you.  If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

I Corinthians 3:1-3 NKJV↓
And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to  receive  it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there  are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

My dearly loved brothers and sisters in the church of God, please remember that you do not belong to this world. You belong to God. We should obey God and respect Him so that we can show other people in the world His goodness. If we continue living in our sinful ways, giving in to our earthly desires, then we are not being faithful to the Lord. If we are God’s chosen people, let us not be like the people of the earth or want the evil things they want. If we say that we have faith in Jesus, yet we are not being faithful to Him, that would be lying to ourselves. Do not think things that are earthly, instead, focus on the things that come from God above. Do not lean on your own understanding, and trust in the Lord with all your heart. Master Jesus loves you, and so do I. May the peace of Lord Jesus be with you, and may God have mercy on every person!
