"READ ✝ PRAY ✝ OBEY"
What does it mean?
✝ READ= The Word of the Lord is not the Bible, The Word of the Lord is His Son Jesus Christ (John 1:1-3). But we should read the Bible, the Scriptures, the Gospel habitually. Read it when you are happy, sad, bored, busy, just waking up, just about to fall asleep. Read it everyday continuously. Read it in many different versions and compare them all. The Word of the Lord was with God in the beginning, before earth was created. Before any books were ever written, the Word of God was in existence. So His Word is written on our hearts, not only on pages (Deuteronomy 6:6, Jeremiah 31:33). It is the reading of the Bible that shows God we are wholeheartedly and faithfully seeking Him, but it is the Holy Spirit of the Lord who will reveal God's Message to us (1 John 2:27, 1 Thessalonians 1:5). This is a form of communication with God; one way the Lord speaks to us is through the Bible. Before and after reading, we should pray for understanding, so that in the Bible we hear the Word (Psalms 119:125, John 16:7-27).
✝ PRAY= We cannot understand the things that come from God without His Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10-16). The Spirit is the Helper used to interpret our prayers and relay God's answers to us (Romans 8:26). When we pray to God, it MUST be with faith that we pray. We cannot hesitate or doubt, or else the prayer is ineffective (James 1:6). Prayer pleases the Lord very much, and the faithful prayer can edify the church and heal the sick (Proverbs 15:8, James 5:16)! So we see that faith is required in prayer. And we see that prayer is required in reading the Bible and understanding The Word of the Lord. When we pray, we don't pray alone or by our own power; we pray in the name of Jesus Christ with the power of the Holy Spirit!
✝ OBEY= Jesus said to love each other and do to other people what we would want to have done on to ourselves (Matthew 7:12, John 13:34). So we should love and serve everyone with the strength of Christ. Obedience to God is following the Teaching of His Son (Luke 9:35). The Lord wants us to be doing what is right, and what is right is what Jesus did and said to do. Jesus came down to earth from heaven to tell the sinful people of the world to REPENT, change their ways and turn their hearts to God (Mark 1:14-15, Luke 24:47, Revelation 3:19). Living righteously, having a good heart, and producing good fruit comes naturally through the power of the Holy Spirit, but Jesus said we receive the Holy Spirit through repentance and baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 2:38, Acts 19: 3-6, John 3:3-36). This means we must follow the teachings of the Messiah and put our trust in Him in order to live life on the path God has chosen for us. So faithfully follow in the footsteps of Jesus, and you will never fail to edify the church and promote God's will being done here on earth (see verses attached below).
"You are My friends if you do whatever I command you."
Matthew 7:21-23 ERV↓
“Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter God’s kingdom. The only people who will enter are those who do what my Father in heaven wants. On that last Day many will call me Lord. They will say, ‘Lord, Lord, by the power of your name we spoke for God. And by your name we forced out demons and did many miracles.’ Then I will tell those people clearly, ‘Get away from me, you people who do wrong. I never knew you.’"
Matthew 7:24-27 ERV↓
“Whoever hears these teachings of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. But it did not fall because it was built on rock. “Whoever hears these teachings of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. It rained hard, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house. And it fell with a loud crash.”
Acts 2:38 NKJV↓
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
John 14:15-24 NKJV↓
“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?” Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father’s who sent Me."
Matthew 7:12 NKJV↓
"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."
Acts 19:3-6 NKJV↓
And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
I Peter 4:1-2 NKJV↓
Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
Luke 9:35 HCSB↓
Then a voice came from the cloud, saying: This is My Son, the Chosen One; listen to Him!
Revelation 3:19-20 NKJV↓
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
Romans 15:6-7 NKJV↓
that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God.
Galatians 6:7-8 NKJV↓
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
II Peter 1:3-10 NKJV↓
as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;
Psalms 139:2 NKJV↓
You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.
James 1:6 AMP↓
Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind.
Jeremiah 31:33-34 NKJV↓
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord : I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord ,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
Proverbs 20:3 NKJV↓
It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.
Psalms 19:14 NKJV↓
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord , my strength and my Redeemer.
Proverbs 30:5-6 NKJV↓
Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.
Philippians 2:3 NKJV↓
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
Luke 9:46-48 NLT↓
Then his disciples began arguing about which of them was the greatest. But Jesus knew their thoughts, so He brought a little child to His side. Then He said to them, “Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on My behalf welcomes Me, and anyone who welcomes Me also welcomes My Father who sent Me. Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.”
John 2:24-25 NKJV↓
But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.
Hosea 14:9 NKJV↓
Who is wise? Let him understand these things. Who is prudent? Let him know them. For the ways of the Lord are right; The righteous walk in them, But transgressors stumble in them.
Titus 2:1-15 NKJV↓
But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you. Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back, not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.
II Timothy 2:14 NKJV↓

Luke 8:21 NKJV↓
But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
To sum things up:
Read = Faithfully read the Bible (we can't be followers of Christ aka Christians if we don't know about the Way, the Truth, and the Life; we need to learn from the one true Teacher!)
Pray = on our knees, knowing in our hearts that the Lord hears our prayer. Pray with faith, not with doubt.
Obey = Have faith and trust in the Lord. Love like Jesus. Do to other people what we would want done to us. Pray for our enemies. Turn the other cheek when hit. Give willingly. Hear the Teachings of the Chosen Messiah and do as He says. Follow in His footsteps and receive the Holy Spirit through faith in Him. Serve each other like Jesus serves.
God bless you, and may the peace of the Lord Jesus remain with you!
